i'm in law school and i have pretty good knowledge on the subject. first of all is he a minor (under 18) if so than yes his rights had to have been read at the time of arrest! making it an invalid arrest. if not than rights don't have to be read unless the officer or another officer fomally interrogates him(you know like the good cop bad cop thing) if he never got formally interogated than he didn't need to have his rights read to him. well hit me back let me know what happened maybe i can help some more!
